ABOUT
From 26-29 April, Edinburgh will host Scotland's biggest and most inspirational fashion event to date. The Edinburgh International Fashion Festival will be an entirely new creative experience for the city featuring headline catwalk events from leading international designers Vivienne Westwood, Jonathan Saunders and Matthew Williamson alongside new homegrown talent.
Other programme highlights will include 'In Conversation' forums, giving the audience an opportunity to meet the designers in a more personal environment, Dedicated Followers Of Fashion, the hippest fashion orienteering event ever, plus The Marketplace, which will provide a rare shopping experience giving exclusive access to some of the best original design from well known Scottish brands alongside emerging designer names, plus a number of Edinburgh's retail outlets will also present their own distinctive style on the catwalks.
Famed for its contribution to arts and culture, its rich retail offer and its stunning city centre backdrop, Edinburgh is the natural choice to host an event of this stature. The festival will attract an overseas audience as well as local residents into the city centre at what is traditionally a quiet period and will help to cement Edinburgh's bold, youthful and cosmopolitan image on an international stage.
Commissioned by Edinburgh City Centre Management, the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival is delighted to have the support of Colin McDowell as Creative Director. Recognised as one of the most authoritative fashion commentators in the world and author of sixteen books, Colin is also Senior Fashion Writer for The Sunday Times Style magazine. Colin's expert knowledge of fashion will guarantee that the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival fast becomes a firm favourite in the rich calendar of events, not only in Edinburgh, but within the fashion world as a whole.
