The Edinburgh Inspiring Capital brand was launched on 25 May 2005. The aim of the brand is to communicate and build a strong and meaningful identity that accurately encapsulates the unique attributes, values and personality of the Edinburgh city region.

The brand informs Edinburgh city region marketing and communication strategies in key areas such as tourism, signage, investment and talent attraction.

Everyone can join in, benefit and be a part of the largest and most cohesive ever promotion of Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Local businesses using the brand can take advantage of our extensive research and development by connecting their business to the Edinburgh Inspiring Capital brand.

The brand is a public/private partnership. The public sector partners are the City of Edinburgh Council, Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian and VisitScotland Edinburgh Network Office.

EventScotland is responsible for leading the implementation of Scotland’s major event strategy designed to maximise the benefits of existing events, to attract new events, to showcase Scotland's assets and to encourage more people to visit Scotland to experience at first hand major sporting, cultural and arts events being staged across the country.
